ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — Â His job is to protect people, but instead, police say an Albuquerque firefighter chose to get behind the wheel and drive drunk with children in the car.
Around 9 p.m. Saturday, police say 27-year-old Jeffrey Dallman – an Albuquerque firefighter – was arrested for driving drunk with three children between the ages of 2 and 12 in the car.
Police say Dallman crashed his vehicle near the intersection of Grande Blvd. and 16th Ave. SE and continued to drive away. Police were able to find him by following an oil trail that led them to a nearby driveway.
According to the police report, Dallman did not want to speak to officers.
The arresting officer wrote in the police report that Dallman smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
He failed a field sobriety test, but complained of tightness in his chest and was transported to a local hospital.
Police say they found two open bottles of Jack Daniels in a backpack near his car.
Dallman, who has been on the force for three years, faces multiple charges, including aggravated DWI and three counts of child endangerment. ….MORE
