After two years in jail and seven days in court, Scott Owens, 29, had tears in his eyes as he walked out of a Santa Fe courtroom a free man on Tuesday. A jury found him not guilty on all counts after a day and a half of deliberations following an emotional week-long vehicular-homicide trial.

His silence, while echoed by the jurors and attorneys after the verdict was read, wasn’t shared by all.
“They said not guilty, he was drunk. … He killed four kids, maimed another kid, tortured a bunch of other kids,” said John Simmons, the father of 15-year-old Rose Simmons, the Monte del Sol student killed in the crash. “So what can I say?” …..MORE

SANTA FE, NM  – The man, who admits he was drunk the night he collided with a car full of teens, killing four of them, was found not guilty Tuesday.
After a seven-day trial and 13 hours of deliberating the jury reached a verdict Tuesday evening.
