Yvonne Martinez held on DWI Homicide after killing two passengers in crash
Two Killed in a motor vehicle accident in northern Santa Fe County
The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident July 1, 2016, in northern Santa Fe County. Sadly two people in the car, back seat passengers, were killed in this one car roll over. They were ejected from the car and sustained fatal injuries after the suspected drunk driver lost control of her vehicle.
Deputies indicate alcohol was involved in this accident. Open and closed containers of hard liquor were recovered at the crime scene. The driver sustained minor injuries and was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide. The driver has three prior DWI convictions according to court records.
