New York: Judge gives man probation for DUI; has prior DUI fatal hit and run on record

Syracuse — A Syracuse man who left the scene after a fatal hit-and-run crash six years ago was sentenced today to five years of probation in a recent drunken driving case.
Sean Vazquez, 40, of 308 Duane St., was sentenced by state Supreme Court Justice John Brunetti based on the recommendation by the probation department. Vazquez was arrested Nov. 2 after police spotted him driving through a stop sign on Lodi Street while using a cell phone.
The sentence for felony drunken driving includes electronic home confinement. Vazquez will also need to install an interlock device in any vehicle he drives. His lawyer Laurin Haddad said he has no vehicle.…..MORE
