Drunk driver who killed girl faces manslaughter charges

MILTON — A memorial service for the Ballston Spa High School student who was killed by an allegedly drunk driver has been scheduled for Wednesday evening, school officials announced.
Kari Liedel, 14, was walking on West Milton Road at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when police say she was struck by a Ford Escape driven
by 21-year-old Gavin Staulters. She died at the scene.
Those who knew the teenager, a Milton resident, described her as someone who loved to sing and dance and was always smiling and laughing.
