GOSHEN — A Walden man was indicted Wednesday on homicide charges in a car crash that killed one of his close friends and seriously injured another.
Dylan Knapp, 23, was driving his Volkswagen Passat about 1:45 a.m. Sept. 4 on Route 208 when the car veered off the road, hitting a utility pole and a concrete pillar, just north of the intersection with Woodcock Mountain Road near Washingtonville. Brian Strommer, 22, of Washingtonville, was thrown from the back seat and died at the scene. Front-seat passenger John Blain, 22, of Blooming Grove, suffered serious injuries to his ankle and foot.
