New York: State Police hold Super Bowl Party; Jullian Pena most valuable player!

NYSP Conducts a DWI Saturation Detail Across State for Super Bowl
According to the New York State Police, on February 5th, 2012 a roving DWI saturation detail was conducted in Westchester County by the New York State Police.
JULLIAN PENA, age 28, from Yonkers, NY was arrested for Aggravated DWI in the Town of Greenburgh. PENA was stopped for speeding on the Sprain Brook Parkway and subsequently found to be intoxicated. PENA was processed at SP Hawthorne where he submitted to a breath test that indicated he had a .20% BAC. PENA was issued traffic tickets and has to appear in the T/Greenburgh Court on 02/13/12.
In addition to the DWI arrest, 23 traffic tickets were issued during the detail for the following violations:  10 – speeding violations  2 – seatbelt violations   3 – cell phone violations   8 – other traffic violations.
Gouverneur based State Police arrested BRADLEY S. HARMER, age 46, of 1630 Stone Road in Gouverneur, NY for DWI on 02/04/12 at 10:25 pm. HARMER was stopped on CR21 in the Town of Hermon for failing to keep right. During the stop, HARMER was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest. HARMER was processed at SP Gouverneur where a breath test showed his BAC was .09%. HARMER was released with tickets for DWI, Failing to Keep Right, and Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. All tickets are returnable to the Town of Hermon Court on 03/05/12 at 5:30 pm.

Gouverneur based State Police arrested Jody L. Matthews, age 41, 419 Talcville Rd., Edwards N.Y. for DWI as result of a traffic stop on Maple Ave. Edwards. Matthews was operating an ATV without and head or tail lamps. Matthews was issued Utt’s for VTL 1192-3 (Fel) 1192-2aa and 2406-1e all returnable to the Town of Edwards Court on 2/7/12 at 6:00 PM. Matthews was arraigned in the Town of Edwards Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail of 1,000 cash and 2,000 bond. His BAC was reported at .29%.

(Maryland, NY – February 6, 2012) On February 3, 2012, State Police at Oneonta arrested Joshua D. Dresser, 29, of Milford, NY for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC result of .15%. The arrest resulted from traffic stop on State Route 7 in Maryland, NY. Mr. Dresser was issued tickets returnable in the Town of Maryland Court on February 14, 2012.

Meredith, NY – February 6, 2012) On February 4, 2012, SP Oneonta Troopers arrested Richard L. Schultz, 61, of Meridale, NY for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC of .10%. The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle accident in Meredith, NY. Mr. Schultz was issued a ticket returnable to the Town of Meredith Court on February 15, 2012.

(Endicott, NY – February 6, 2012) On February 5, 2012, SP Endwell Troopers arrested Taylor S. Bamann, 22, of Endicott, NY for Felony Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on North McKinley Avenue in Endicott, NY. Mr. Bamann was arraigned in the Town of Union Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.

(Cortlandville, NY – February 6, 2012) On February 4, 2012, SP Homer Troopers arrested Austin R. Nickerson, 18, of Locke, NY, for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC result of .16%. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on State Route 13 in Cortlandville, NY. Mr. Nickerson was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Cortlandville Court on February 27, 2012.

New York State Police Rochester patrol makes DWI arrest on 2/3/12 at 09:34 pm after stopping a vehicle for speeding on the Ontario State Parkway in the town of Greece. The driver , George Howell, age 54 of 14 E Wautoma Beach Rd, Hilton, NY was arrested after it was determined that he was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage . Mr. Howell failed roadside field sobriety tests and was transported to SP Rochester for further processing. He refused to provide a breath sample and subsequently issued uniform traffic tickets all returnable in Greece town court on February 22, 2012 at 1pm .

SP Rochester makes DWI / Drug arrest at Sobriety Check Point on February 4, 2012 at 12am on the inner loop westbound in the city of Rochester. Arrested was Michael D Giannelli, age 34 of 573-6 Stowell Drive, Rochester, NY. Mr. Giannelli was transported to SP Rochester where he provided a breath sample with a resulting BAC level of .15% .

SP Rochester makes a DWI arrest at a Sobriety Road check point on February 4, 2012 at 1:45am on main street in the city of Rochester. Judah S Manetta, 10/17/86, 240 Luddington Lane, Rochester was arrested after failing roadside field sobriety tests and he was transported to SP Rochester for further processing where he provided a breath sample with a resulting BAC level of .12% . He was issued Utt’s for Rochester city court to appear at a later date.

New York State Police at Rochester patrol makes a DWI arrest at a Sobriety Road Check on February 4, 2012 at 1:50am on the inner loop in the city of Rochester. Arrested for driving while intoxicated was Angel L. Jimenez, Jr. , age 25 of 364 Murray Street , Rochester. Mr. Jimenez was driving without headlamps and during a subsequent interview he was taken into custody and transported to SP Rochester for further processing. He refused to provide a breath sample and was then committed to Monroe County Jail to await arraignment on the charges.
Man crashed his BMW into rear of Lexus in pricey Super Bowl DWI Celebration; fled on foot

On 2/5/12 at 10:45 PM, Troopers were dispatched to a two-car auto accident on the westbound side of the Southern State Parkway near exit 25N(Newbridge Rd). When Troopers responded to that location, they observed a man, later identified as the driver that caused the accident, fleeing on foot northbound on Newbridge Road. Troopers were able to apprehend him without incident. Angelo Graci, age 61, of Elmont NY, was operating a BMW when he struck a Lexus from behind, before leaving his vehicle behind and fleeing on foot. Troopers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Mr. Graci. Mr. Graci failed sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. The operator of the Lexus and two of his passengers were taken to Nassau University Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Police report that the defendant produced a positive breath sample of .22% BAC. Mr. Graci was arrested for DWI, Leaving the Scene of a Accident with Injuries(A Misd.), and traffic violations. All charges returnable in Nassau County First District Court.
Man impaired by prescription drugs charged with DWI after cruise down wrong way on highway

New York State Police report that on 2/3/12 at 2:30 AM, Troopers were dispatched to the Southern State Parkway near Carlton Avenue, for multiple reports of a wrong way driver traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. Troopers were able to stop the vehicle, a gray Chevrolet Silverado, near Exit 42 (Fifth Avenue). The driver, John Brooks, age 28, of Huntington NY, admitted to taking prescription drugs earlier in the evening. Mr. Brooks failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI Drugs.

According to New York State Police, on 2/2/12 at 2:40 AM, Troopers were dispatched to a report of a one-car auto accident on the southbound side of the Bethpage State Parkway near Boundary Avenue. When Troopers arrived at the location, they observed a gray Toyota Camary in the woods on the west side of the parkway. While interviewing the driver, Laura McMorrough, age 30, of Hicksville NY, Troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. Troopers also observed Ms. McMorrough to have watery, droopy, bloodshot eyes, and slow coordination. Ms. McMorrough failed sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for DWI. She later admitted to reading a text message on her cellphone when she lost control and drove onto the parkway shoulder.
