New York: State Police nab Beekman Supervisor Matt Kennedy for DWI; list more DWI arrests over holidays

According to the New York State Police, the following persons were charged with DWI:
Combined Targeted Enforcement Effort Nets 4 Alcohol Related Arrests.
A combined targeted enforcement effort of the New York State Police, the Catskill PD and the Greene County Sheriff’s Dept. resulted in the arrest of 4 individuals for alcohol related driving offenses in Greene County.

The combined effort of three Greene County law enforcement agencies resulted in the issuance of 14 traffic tickets, and the arrest of four individuals for alcohol related traffic offenses. As part of the statewide “drive sober or get pulled over” holiday enforcement initiative, the State Police in Catskill, the Catskill PD and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department held a joint, overnight road check on State Route 23.
The check of over 400 vehicles resulted in the arrest of two individuals for Driving While Intoxicated, a traffic misdemeanor, and a third for Driving While Ability Impaired by alcohol, a traffic infraction.
Arrested for DWI were James Kardum, age 28, of 448 Joslyn Blvd, Hudson and Tushakumar Patel, age 36, of 1 Amos Post Rd., Catskill.
Both subjects were issued appearance tickets to appear in the Village of Catskill Court at a later date.
Arrested for DWAI was Matthew Rivenburg, age 29 of 118 North St. Catskill.  He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date.

Beekman Town Supervisor Matt Kennedy
The fourth overnight arrest occurred in the Town of Athens. Beekman Town Supervisor Matthew Kennedy, age 40, of 183 Martin Rd, Beekman, NY was charged with Driving While Intoxicated.  He also was issued an appearance ticket to appear at a later date in the Town of Athens Court.

Cobleskill, NY – December 29, 2012) State Police in Cobleskill , NY arrested Lucas Maxwell, 19, of Buchanan, NY on December 6th and charged him with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a misdemeanor. Maxwell was stopped at approximately 8:45 p.m. on State Route 7 in the Village of Cobleskill when a Trooper observed him talking on his cell phone and driving a gray Mitsubishi without headlights. Maxwell was issued tickets returnable to the Village of Cobleskill Court on January 22, 2013.
Peter Renaldo in a ditch while intoxicated
LAWTONS – On December 29th Troopers arrested 21 yr old Peter Renaldo of Shirley Rd in North Collins for DWI. Troopers responded to a call of a car off the road on Quaker Rd. Upon their arrival Troopers found Renaldo’s pickup stuck in the ditch. Renaldo was subsequently arrested for DWI and process at SP Collins, with a reportable BAC of .10%. He’s due in North Collins Town court at a later date.
Corey Daniels and his night of Fire & Ice led to DWI arrest
Perrysburg, NY: On the early morning hours of December 24, 2012, Troopers based at the Collins Barracks were called to the scene of a truck fire on Peck Hill Road in the Town of Perrysburg (Cattaraugus County). Investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 24-year-old Corey Daniels, lost control of his 1997 Chevrolet pickup on a snow covered raodway, becoming disabled in a ditch. While Daniels was attempting to free the truck, it caught on fire, ultimately destroying the entire cab portion.
The Perrysburg Volunteer Fire Company responded and put out the fire. Daniels was transported from the scene to the Collins barracks, where he failed numerous field sobriety tests.
While at the barracks, Daniels provided a BAC of .17% and was processed for the Town of Perrysburg Court. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Felony DWI – Brent G. Carbino charged after crash in the town of Pierrepont
On 12/11/2012, Brent G. Carbino, 32, of Colton, NY, was arrested for Felony DWI – 1192-2aa and 1192-3 related to a property damage accident that occurred at approximately 9:30 pm. Carbino was also issued tickets for speed not reasonable and prudent and leaving the scene of an accident. Carbino had a reported BAC of 0.22%. Carbino was arraigned in the Town of Pierrepont Court in front of Judge Camp and released under the supervision of probation and is to re-appear in the Town of Pierrepont Court on 12/19/2012 at 7:00 pm.
(Sidney, NY- December 28, 2012) On December 27, 2012, the New York State Police conducted an underage drinker initiative detail across Chenango County which resulted in two arrests for the underage sale of alcohol.

Busted Car Leads to Busted Chelsea Kamp on DWI charges


(Richfield Springs, NY – December 28, 2012) On December 27, 2012, State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Chelsea L. Kamp, 23, of Richfield Springs, NY for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC result of .15%. The arrest resulted from a complaint of a disabled vehicle on Elm Street in Richfield Springs, NY. Kamp was issued tickets returnable to the Village of Richfield Springs Court on January 17, 2013.
Cheeseman Charged with DWI in Chenango
(Chenango, NY – December 27, 2012) On December 26, 2012, SP Binghamton Troopers arrested Patrick J. Cheeseman, 42, of Port Crane, NY for Driving While Intoxicated with a BAC result of .22%. The arrest resulted from a traffic stop on Upper Front Street in Chenango, NY. Cheeseman was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Chenango Court on January 8, 2013.

Joshua Moore charged with DWI with child in vehicle
On December 18th, 2012, the New York State Police arrested Joshua Moore, 41, of Catskill, for felony Driving While Intoxicated under Leandra’s Law. Moore had operated his vehicle while intoxicated in the Jefferson Mobile Home Park located off of County Route 23B in Catskill. Moore had been operating the vehicle with a 15 year old passenger and was found to have a BAC of .13. Moore was charged with felony DWI and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was released with tickets to reappear in Catskill Court on December 27 at 4:00 pm.

James G. Onyango Charged with DWI in Wrong Way Crash on Interstate 84
The New York State Police announce the arrest of James G. Onyango, 50, of Bushkill, PA.  Onyango was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree (Misdemeanor); Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor); Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor); Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor); and the Vehicle and Traffic Law violations of 1127a (driving wrong way on highway) and 1227.1 (open container violation).
On December 16, 2012 at approximately 4:48 PM,  Onyango was operating a gray 2003 Toyota Corolla, which was travelling eastbound in the westbound lane of Interstate 84 in the town of Montgomery when he struck a 2011 Ford Escape, head on, being operated by Richard Randazzo.
Two other vehicles were also involved in the accident.  A fifth vehicle spun out to avoid colliding with the pileup.  Randazzo was transported to St. Lukes Hospital, Newburgh Campus, where he was treated and released.  No further injuries were reported at the time of the accident.  Upon further investigation,  Onyango was charged with the aforementioned violations and misdemeanors.
Onyango submitted to a breath sample and was additionally charged with Aggravated DWI, for having a Blood Alcohol Level above .18% as specified in the section 1192.2AA of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Onyango was released on an appearance ticket for his charges and scheduled to  appear in the Town of Montgomery court on January 3, 2013 at 5:00 pm.
Anyone driving on Interstate 84 in the towns of Newburgh, Montgomery or Wallkill, between 4:30 pm and 4:48 pm, who may have witnessed the gray 2003 Toyota Corolla travelling east in the westbound lane is encouraged to call the State Police BCI at Montgomery, (845) 457-1388.

State Police in Liberty, NY observe Randal Rivera failing to maintain lane, leads to DWI arrest

On December 4, 2012 State Police Investigators observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on State Route 55 in Liberty that crossed over the double yellow line. The vehicle was stopped by a Trooper who identified the operator as Randal Rivera, age 53, of Neversink, NY. Troopers smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage while interviewing Rivera, who subsequently failed sobriety tests. He was transported to the State Police barracks in Liberty where he provided a blood sample. Rivera was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and was released to reappear on December 20 at the Town of Liberty Court.
State Police arrest Elmira man after he is involved in a motor vehicle crash
On December 2, 2012, Troopers investigated a one car accident on State Route 17 in the Town of  Rockland.  The operator of the vehicle, James T. Bowe, age 28 of Elmira, NY was interviewed and further investigation revealed that he was under the influence of drugs. He was transported to the State Police barracks in Liberty and was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. He refused to submit to a blood test and was processed for operating a vehicle while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County jail on $2,000 bail to reappear on December 18.

DWI arrest LYNN SARNOWSKI who parked her car inside a stranger’s house.  180  East Kerley Corners Rd.  Red Hook, NY


State Police investigated a 1 car PIAA, and arrested LYNN SARNOWSKI of Elizaville for DWI 1192, sub 2 & 3  of NYS VTL – after crashing her car through the front door of a house at 180 East Kerley Cors Rd in Red Hook.   The car came to rest in the living room of the house and injured a man who was  on the second floor of the house, and narrowly missing the female resident of the house who was watching television.  The Red Hook  & Milan Fire Departments were on the scene and had to extricate SARNOWSKI from her vehicle.   She was charged with misdemeanor DWI after being taken by rescue squad to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.  She is to appear at a later date in the Town of Red Hook Court.   Additional charges may be pending in this case.
The State Police assisted the Red Hook Police department in this case who had another subject familiar with SARNOWSKI under arrest for FELONY DWI, in the area of this accident.

NYSP Conduct DWI Saturation Detail In Westchester County
On 12/22/12, the New York State Police conducted a DWI saturation patrol on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh.  There were a total of 60 vehicles stopped for various V&T violations and 21 tickets were issued for those violations.  Troopers issued 7-radar/speed tickets, 1 seatbelt ticket, and 13 tickets for other violations. The tickets were returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on 01/03/13 at 9:30am.

A total of 9 other uniform traffic tickets were issued for V&T violations.

NY STATE TROOPERS  ARREST KIM T Trebing IN RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT INCIDENT

On December 28, 2012 at approximately 12:38 p.m., NY State Police patrol units patrolling the Southern State Parkway, Suffolk County NY, responded to numerous calls of a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner travelling southbound on the Sagtikos Parkway just north of the Southern State Parkway.
Motorist had called and reported the vehicle, a red Chevrolet Cavalier, had entered the Southern State Parkway traveling westbound driving all over the road and blocking traffic. Several marked police units responded and made visual contact with the vehicle in the vicinity of exit 39S and attempted to stop it.
However the driver had other plans.
Using emergency lights and sirens the Troopers observed the vehicle drive repeatedly across all three lanes of traffic in a reckless manner forcing all other motorist to stay behind to avoid a collision.
The driver refused to comply to the Troopers attempts to stop the vehicle and a pursuit ensued with the car travelling at speeds between 35 and 60 miles per hour weaving across all three lanes. As Troopers positioned their patrol vehicles to attempt to make a stop the driver accelerated and struck the patrol vehicle in the rear.
After an initial impact with a marked police unit the Chevrolet entered the grass center median, struck the guiderail, bounces off, re-enters the roadway and strikes two patrol vehicles, several times, in an attempt to avoid being stopped.
Troopers managed to bring the Cavalier to a stop only to find its female operator, KIM T Trebing, age 44, of Deer Park, NY incoherent and unable to speak with them at the scene. She was unable to stand and appeared to be in a highly intoxicated condition. Trebing was placed under arrest and her vehicle impounded. After her arrest she was found to be in possession of Cocaine and prescription pills. Due to her condition she was transported to the hospital and arrested for Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance 5th and 7thdegree, Criminal Mischief 2nd, for the damage to the police cars, Unlawful Fleeing and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. After being released from the hospital TREBING was remanded to the Suffolk County Fourth Precinct awaiting morning arraignment.Daniel Crowther charged with DWI
12/9/12 Daniel Crowther, 26, of Pittsford, NY Arrested for DWI following a traffic stop on the I-90 in the town of Stafford for speeding.  He was processed at SP Henrietta and released to a sober third party, to appear in the Stafford Town Court at a later date.
