New York: State Police report DWI driver roundup for Aug. 26, 2014; Brian C. Reynolds leads the list!

New York State Police report the following incidents and arrests:

Alexander, NY – August 21, 2014, Troopers conducted a DWI checkpoint on ST-20 in the Town of Alexander, Genesee County on Thursday night to Friday morning. As a result of the checkpoint, three persons were arrested for Misdemeanors for Driving While Intoxicated.

Brian C. Reynolds, age 33 of Rochester, NY was arrested and charged with Operating Motor Vehicle W/.08% of 1% Alcohol-1st Offense and DWI-1st  Offense. Reynolds was directed to appear in the Town of Alexander Court on a later date.

Erica A. Cook, age 26 of Webster, NY was arrested and charged with Operating Motor Vehicle W/.08% of 1% Alcohol-1st Offense and DWI-1st  Offense . Cook failed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’S) and was transported to SP Batavia where she submitted to a breath test resulting in a .12% BAC. She was issued tickets for the charges and released. Cook is scheduled to appear in Town of Alexander Court on September 9, 2014.

Zachary W. Plath, age 21 of Leroy, NY was arrested and charged with Operating Motor Vehicle W/.08% of 1% Alcohol-1st Offense and DWI-1st  Offense. After Plath failed my SFST’s he was placed under arrest for DWI and transported back to SP Batavia where he registered a BAC of .16% (twice over the legal limit).Plath was processed and issued tickets returnable in the Town of Alexander Court on August 26, 2014.

On August 22, 2014 at about 9:30PM New York State Police arrested Thomas J. Schosek, age 28 of Jamestown, NY after a traffic stop on ST-62 in Kennedy for failing to use his turn signal.  Troopers detected an odor of alcohol and after field sobriety tests placed Schosek under arrest for DWI.  He was  transported to SP Jamestown for processing where a BAC of .15 was obtained.  Schosek was issued tickets for Driving While Intoxicated, Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages in a Vehicle, and numerous traffic infractions including Improper Turning Signal all returnable to the Town of Poland Court at a later date.  Schosek was released to a third party.

 

 

Edward F. Moerlins of Norfolk for DWI NYSP 082614

On August 24, 2014, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Massena-based State Police arrested 48-year-old Edward F. Moerlins of Norfolk for DWI subsequent to a traffic stop on State Route 56 in Raymondville. Moerlins was initially stopped for failure to keep right and was found to be intoxicated.

Moerlins was charged with Aggravated DWI. His blood alcohol content was determined to be .30%. Additionally, Moerlins was ticketed for failure to keep right. He is to appear at the Town of Norfolk Court on September 10, 2014, at 9 a.m.

 

 

 


On August 22, 2014, at approximately 4:37 p.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on a Honda ATV that was observed traveling on Burke Road in the town of Beekmantown. The operator 18-year-old Thomas R. Godding II of West Chazy, was subsequently arrested for DWI.

His blood alcohol content was determined to be .20%.  Godding was charged with Felony Aggravated DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree. He was further ticketed for unlicensed operation, operation in violation of restrictions, unlawful operation on a public highway, operating without a helmet, and failure to display a license plate.

Godding was arraigned at the Town of Plattsburgh Court and remanded to Clinton County Jail in lieu of $250 cash bail, or $500 bond. He is to reappear at the Beekmantown Court on August 27, 2014, at 5 p.m.


On August 23, 2014, at approximately 12:30 a.m. State Police conducted a traffic stop on a 2005 Chrysler minivan on South Raquette River Road in the town of Massena.

The operator, 42-year-old Christopher R. LeFrancois of Massena was subsequently arrested for DWI.  His blood alcohol content was determined to be .29%. LeFrancois was also found in possession of approximately 1.5 grams of marihuana.

LeFrancois was charged with Aggravated DWI and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. He was further ticketed for drinking alcohol in motor vehicle on a highway and insufficient tail lamps.

LeFrancois is to appear in the Massena Village Court on September 2, 2014, at 1:30 p.m.

Drew P. Haight DWI arrest by New York State Police

(Dryden, NY – August 25, 2014) On August 23, 2014, State Police in Ithaca arrested Drew P. Haight, 24, of Freeville, NY for Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable BAC result of .13%.  He was arrested after a vehicle and traffic law stop for having an exhaust that was too loud while driving on State Route 13 in Dryden, NY.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.  Mr. Haight was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Dryden Court on September 3, 2014.

(Kirkwood, NY – August 25, 2014)  During the weekend of August 22, 2014, through August 24, 2014, the New York State Police at SP Binghamton arrested three suspects for DWI and other charges.  This includes:

On August 22, 2014, Timothy E. Sullivan, 41 of Conklin, NY was arrested for DWI with a reportable BAC result of .12%.  Mr. Sullivan was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Conklin Court on September 2, 2014.

On August 23, 2014, Jeffrey B. Winegard, 50, of Whitney Point, NY was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.  Troopers responded to a Broome County 911 report of a one car accident on Hickory Street in Triangle, NY.  Mr. Winegard was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Triangle on September 3, 2014.

On August 24, 2014, Alicia A., Richards, 28, of Johnson City, NY was arrested for DWI.  Ms. Richards refused to submit to a breath test.  She was issued tickets returnable to the Village of Johnson City Court on September 3, 2014.

(Kirkwood, NY – August 22, 2014) On August 22, 2014, Troopers from SP Binghamton arrested William J. Kurtz, 56, of Binghamton, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a reportable BAC result of .19% and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.  The arrest resulted from a vehicle and traffic law stop for not having a working headlight while driving on Upper Court Street in Kirkwood, NY.  An investigation determined that he was driving while intoxicated.  When searched he was found to unlawfully possess approximately 1.6 grams of marihuana in a clothing pocket.  Mr. Kurtz was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Kirkwood Court on September 9, 2014.

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 Painted Post State Police arrested Erik D. Dann for felony driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a weapon 4th degree.  Dann, 23, of Painted Post was arrested after an investigation of a property damage motor vehicle accident on Meads Creek Road in the Town of Campbell.  Dann was remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of bail.

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 Horseheads State Police arrested David L. Eccleston II for driving while ability impaired by drugs and unauthorized possession of marijuana.  Eccleston, 22, of Waverly was arrested after a traffic a stop on River Road in the Town of Chemung. Eccleston was released and is to appear in Chemung Town Court at a later date.

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 Horseheads State Police arrested Anthony R. Sidonio for driving while intoxicated and unauthorized possession of marijuana.  Sidonio, 23 of Ulster, Pennsylvania was arrested after a traffic a stop on Interstate 86 in the Town of Ashland.  Sidonio was released and is to appear in Ashland Town Court at a later date.

On Friday, August 22nd, 2014 Wayland State Police arrested Rick C. Stephens.  Stephens, 44 of Arkport was arrested after a reported disturbance on County Route 53 in the Town of Dansville.  Stephens was charged with trespass and driving while intoxicated.  Stephens is to appear in Dansville Town Court at a later date.

On Sunday, August 24th, 2014 Painted Post State Police arrested Joel T. Stage for felony driving while intoxicated.  Stage, 27 of Painted Post was arrested after a traffic a stop on State Route 415 in the Town of Erwin.  Stage is to appear in Erwin Town Court at a later date.
