BLOOMINGBURG, NY — On March 26th, 2015 Wurtsboro-based New York State Troopers arrested a Wallkill man for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle.
Thursday evening Wurtsboro Troopers responded to a vehicle off the roadway on Burlingham road in Bloomingburg. While assisting the motorist off the roadway a second vehicle operated by Michael Cappiello, of Wallkill, came to the scene to assist the first vehicle by pulling it out. While interviewing Cappiello Troopers noticed that he was intoxicated. After investigating matter further Cappiello was arrested and transported to SP Wurtsboro. Cappiello was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated along with Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a vehicle. Cappiello was arraigned in Town of Mamakating Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail.
State Police in Wurtsboro arrest Bloomingburg man for Driving While Intoxicated
Pendleton, NY – March 25, 2015. Michael E. Lock, 27 of Tonawanda, NY was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Operating While Suspended and Speeding.
Troopers observed a speeding vehicle on Campbell Blvd in the Town of Pendleton. During the investigation, Troopers discovered through a computer check of a suspended vehicle registration. Detected was an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Lock’s breath and he was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed.
Lock was arrested and processed at SP Lockport with a BAC of 0.15% BAC. Lock was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Pendleton Court on April 1, 2015.
Niagara Falls, NY – March 23, 2015. Christina J. Sobczak 50 of Niagara Falls, NY was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Failed to Keep Right.
Troopers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from Sobczak when she was stopped and interviewed on Pine Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls. Sobczak was given and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
Sobczak was arrested and transported to SP Niagara for processing with a BAC of 0.10%. She is scheduled to appear in the City of Niagara Falls Court on March 27, 2015.
Jack Staples Charged with DWI with two kids in vehicle
Lockport, NY – March 22, 2015. Jack C. Staples 24 of Lockport, NY was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with Child, a Class E Felony, Driving While Intoxicated, Speeding and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle.
Staples were stopped on South Transit Road in the Town of Lockport for speeding. During the investigation, Troopers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were performed, which Staples failed. There was an open container of an alcoholic beverage and two small children in the vehicle with Staples.
Staples was arrested and transported to SP Lockport for processing with a BAC of 0.15%. Staples was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail in lieu of $500 cash $1,000 bond.
Twice the limit for John K Hill
Niagara Falls, NY – March 21, 2015. John K. Hill, 35, of Niagara Falls, NY was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, a Class E Felony, Turn Signal Violation, Unlicensed Driver and No Brake Lights.
Troopers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Hill during a traffic stop westbound on State Route 62 in the City of Niagara Falls. Hill was administered and failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was arrested.
Hill was transported to SP Niagara for processing with a BAC of 0.16%, twice over the legal limit. Hill was issued tickets returnable to the City of Niagara Falls Court on April 10, 2015.
SP Machias – Lancaster man leaves scene of accident, arrested for DWI
During processing Mornelli was found to have a blood alcohol content of .08 percent. He was issued tickets and is to return to answer the charges before the Town of Machias Court at a later date.
Sanborn, NY – March 19, 2015. Kenneth S. Edwards, 32, of Niagara Falls, NY was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, a Class E Felony, Driving While Intoxicated, Operating Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs and No License.
Edwards was observed in an intoxicated manner in his vehicle at BOCES on State Route 31. Troopers responded and interviewed Edwards who showed signs of intoxication. He was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he failed.
Edwards was arrested and transported to SP Niagara for processing where he was evaluated by a trained Drug Recognition Expert. A blood sample was obtained by a local Hospital and will be sent to the Crime Lab for analysis to support the charges.
Edwards was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Cambria Court on April 7, 2015.
