Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in Wyandanch last evening.

Fred Hubbard, 52, of Wyandanch was operating his 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle northbound on Remsen Place when it collided head on with a 1995 Dodge Ram pick-up truck, driven by Shaun Boyd, who had just made a right turn from Cumberbach Street at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Hubbard, who suffered a leg injury, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he is listed in serious condition.

Boyd, of Brooklyn Avenue, North Babylon, who was not injured in the crash, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree for driving with a suspended license.

Boyd is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on October 9.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone who has not been interviewed and has information about the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
