NEW YORK: Todd J. Vanhorn one of the last DWI drivers arrested during 2019 by New York State Police

The New York State Police report that on December 31, 2019, at 08:00 pm, Troopers out of State Police Fredonia arrested Todd J. Vanhorn, 52, of South Dayton, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.
 
Troopers investigating a one-car accident on State Route 83 in the town of Cherry Creek, observed Vanhorn, exhibiting obvious signs of impairment, failure of standardized field sobriety tests, as well as admissions at the scene.  He was arrested and transported to SP Fredonia where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a .12% BAC.
 
Vanhorn was released with an appearance ticket for Cherry Creek Town Court, where he is due to appear in January 2020.

Machias woman arrested for aggravated DWI

On December 28, 2019, SP Machias Troopers arrested Heidie M. Giboo, 36, of Machias, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – BAC Over 0.18%.

During a traffic stop on Roszyk Hill Road in the town of Machias, Troopers determined Giboo had been operating a vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. She failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Giboo was then arrested and transported to SP Machias, where a chemical breath test revealed her to have a 0.21% BAC.

Giboo was issued appearance tickets for Machias Town Court, where she is due to appear later this month.

Bradley N. Mitchell arrested for DWI at twice the legal limit in Hinsdale

On December 29, 2019, State Police Olean Troopers arrested Bradly N. Mitchell, 32, of Mansfield, TX for Driving While Intoxicated.

During a traffic stop on Main Street in the town of Hinsdale, Troopers determined Mitchell had been operating a vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Mitchell was then arrested and transported to SP Olean, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.16% BAC.

Mitchell was issued appearance tickets for Hinsdale Town Court, where he is due to appear later this month.

Bridget Mason busted for DWI
when more triple the legal limit

New York State Police report that on December 30, 2019, State Police Olean Troopers arrested Bridget L. Mason, 39, of Allegany, NY for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated – BAC Over 0.18%.

During their investigation of a one-car accident on South Nine Mile Road in the town of Allegany, Mason, the driver, was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. Troopers determined she had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. She was unable to perform standardized field sobriety tests at the scene due to her level of intoxication. Mason was then arrested and transported to SP Olean, where a chemical breath test revealed her to have a 0.27% BAC.

Mason was released with appearance tickets for Allegany Town Court, where she is due to appear later this month.

Repeat offender DWI driver Robin H. Gregory busted again

New York State Police report that on December 13, 2019, at approximately 2:56 p.m., State Police responded to the American Legion located at 29 Pratt Street in the village of Rouses Point for a report of a property damage motor vehicle crash. An investigation revealed that 64-year-old Robin H. Gregory, of Champlain, operating a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, backed into an unoccupied 2019 Subaru Crosstrek in the Legion’s parking lot. Gregory was subsequently arrested for DWI.  He was found to have previously been convicted of DWI in the preceding ten years. Gregory refused to provide a breath sample to determine the alcohol content of his blood. He was charged with Felony DWI. Gregory was arraigned in the Champlain Town Court and released on his own recognizance.

Samuel Reyes charged with DUI drugs

State Police arrested the operator of the fleeing vehicle, Samuel Reyes, age 28, from Rochester,  for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, False Impersonation, Unlawful Fleeing, Resisting Arrest, and numerous traffic violations.

At approximately 6:33 p.m. the State Police in Rochester attempted to stop a motorist for a violation on Joseph Avenue when the operator failed to comply when troopers activated emergency lights.
The subject attempted to flee from the troopers when the operator of the fleeing vehicle struck another vehicle from behind.  The operator then fled on foot and troopers took the operator into custody on Weaver Street.

On Thursday December 5, 2019 at approximately 2:26 a.m., Troopers assigned to SP Syracuse were conducting a vehicle and traffic stop along the eastbound shoulder of the New York State Thruway in the Town of Brutus, Cayuga County when an approaching vehicle failed to move over and came in close contact with the Troopers. 

The Troopers proceeded after the vehicle then they noticed the driver had turned around and was now dangerously headed the wrong way towards them and other oncoming traffic. 

Hailey E. Hill charged with DWI refusal

The vehicle subsequently pulled over without further incident, and the operator, Hailey E. Hill, 44, of Canandaigua, NY was found to be intoxicated and in possession of an open alcohol container.  She was charged with Felony DWI due to previous alcohol-related driving convictions.  Hill failed to provide a breath sample and was additionally charged with DWI Refusal.  She was arraigned in the Town of Brutus Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $2000 bail or $4000 bond.
