New York: where life is cheap…Derek Manwarren sent to prison for from 1 to 3 years after admitting to driving drunk and killing Brian Cook

When closure is more important than justice…

Letter to the Editor:
Just a little fun fact- my cousin did not receive justice Tuesday July 2 as Derek was given 3 years in jail with parole eligibility in one year. He was given this because he made a deal- as long as he please guilty to the vehicular manslaughter charge they would drop everything else. Well Derek got his way and the little scumbag didn’t even issue and apology to my family.
Funny how animal abusers get more jail time then someone who makes the conscious decision to get behind the wheel HAMMERED in which results in taking a life. I am saddened and disgusted. The laws need to change.
