New York: Will Judge finally put Heather A. Wentworth of Stephentown behind bars for DWI?

Kimberly Snyder, 52, of Averill Park, NY DWI arrest New York State Police,State Police in Schodack arrested Kimberly Snyder, 52, of Averill Park, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.

Snyder was operating a vehicle in the Town of Sand Lake when she was stopped for speeding. Snyder failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody. Snyder was processed at the Sand Lake Barracks where she refused to submit to a breath test. She was issued tickets for DWI, Refusing to submit to a breath test, and speed in zone.

She was released to a third party and is to appear in the Town of Sand Lake Court at a later date.

State Police from Greenwich arrested Tracy Merchant, a 38 yr-old woman from Schuylerville after a traffic stop on ST-29 in the Village of Schuylerville just after 2:00 am on 03/05/16.

Merchant was stopped for speeding and after failing several field sobriety tests was taken to the Greenwich barracks for processing.

A breath sample showed her blood alcohol content to be 0.15%.  She was issued several traffic tickets and released.  She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Saratoga court at a future date.

 

Underage Drinking Initiative Results in Five Arrests:

On Friday March 4, 2016 State Police at Kingston conducted an underage drinking initiative.  The initiative targeted the sale of alcohol to minors and utilized a team of State Police members.  An underage, female operative was utilized with the team to visit and attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages at 10 establishments in the Ulster County towns of Rosendale, Ulster, Marbletown, Kingston, Olive, and Woodstock which included convenience and liquor stores.  Five arrests were made during the detail.

The following people were charged with Sale of Alcohol to a Person Under 21, a violation of the Alcohol Beverage Control Law:

Shakeel Azam, New Paltz, NY
Establishment – Citgo Convenience Store, Route 32, Town of Rosendale

Dillon Binder, Mt. Tremper, NY
Establishment – Sunoco Gas Station, 4131 Route 28, Town of Olive

Zakaria Al Hakeemy, Spring Valley, NY
Establishment – Sunoco Gas Station, 555 Route 28, Town of Kingston

MD Khalid, Kingston, NY
Establishment – Mobil Convenience Store, 1146 Route 32, Town of Rosendale

The subjects were issued appearance tickets and will appear in local courts on a later date.
State Police in Sand Lake arrest pair following a traffic stop on Luther Road in the Town of East Greenbush.  24-year-old John T. Villani of East Greenbush was stopped on Luther Road in the Town of East Greenbush for speeding, traveling 73 mph in a posted 55 mph speed zone and having a loud exhaust.  Villani and his passenger, 23-year-old Kristina LaFalce of Castleton were also found to be in possession of Marihuana.  Villani and LaFalce were issued tickets to appear in the Town of East Greenbush Court on March 10, 2016 at 5:30 P.M.

A North Greenbush woman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated following a traffic stop on State Route 150 in North Greenbush.  State Police in Sand Lake arrested 21-year-old

State Police in Sand Lake arrested 21-year-old Randon L. Thomas of North Greenbush for DWI after she was stopped for speeding, traveling 67 mph in a posted 45 mph speed zone.

Thomas was processed at the State Police Barracks in Sand Lake where she provided a breath sample which indicated her Blood Alcohol Content to be .12%.  Thomas was issued traffic tickets to appear in the Town of North Greenbush Court on March 8, 2016.

State Police in Sand Lake arrested 48-year-old Heather A. Wentworth of Stephentown for Felony Driving While Intoxicated.  Wentworth was arrested following a traffic stop on State Route 22 in the Town of Berlin for Impeding Traffic by traveling 20 mph under the posted speed limit, operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile phone device, and failure to keep right.

Wentworth was found to be operating a motor vehicle without a Court Ordered Ignition Interlock Device and found to have an open container of an alcoholic beverage in her vehicle.

Wentworth was processed at the State Police Barracks in Sand Lake where she provided a breath sample which indicated her Blood Alcohol Content to be .09%.  Wentworth is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Berlin Court on March 16, 2016, at 5:30 P.M.

State Police in Pulaski arrested 37-year-old, Mark A. Sikes, from Liverpool, NY for the following charges:

  • Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, a class “D” felony
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, a class “E” felony
  • Reckless Endangerment, a class  “A” misdemeanor
  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • Resisting Arrest, a class “A” misdemeanor
  • Aggravated DWI, a felony (.15% bac)
  • numerous V&T violations, including speeding

At approximately 5:15 pm, Jefferson County 911 alerted Oswego County of a reported  erratic driver southbound on I-81.  Trooper Todd Hall, who was operating radar in a U-turn, spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle passing him in the Town of Mexico.  Hall attempted to stop Sikes, however Sikes refused to comply.   Sikes continued southbound on I-81 and exited the highway in Central Square.  He finally stopped his vehicle on County Route 12a near Walmart but not before striking an Oswego County Sheriffs vehicle. The deputy was not injured.

Sikes was subsequently taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to Oswego Hospital for minor injuries.  Sikes will be arraigned on the listed charges upon his release from the hospital.

SP Machias – Woman arrested for DWI

On February 28, 2016, at 3:45 am, Troopers arrested Megan M. Martin, 26 of Sigel, PA for Driving While Intoxicated.

Martin was stopped on State Route 242 in the Town of Ellicottville.  While interviewing Martin, the odor of alcoholic beverage was present.  Martin was given SFST’s in which she failed.  Martin was transported to SP Machias for processing.  Martin recorded a .14% BAC.

Martin was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Ellicottville Court for March 2016.
