STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Hey, it’s only drinking and driving, he told police — it’s not like he murdered someone.
That’s the defense Mark Catone, 50, of Carlton Court in Huguenot, offered after he crashed into a utility pole in Travis at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, authorities allege.
“I’m a 50-year-old man who was drinking and driving. I’m being treated like a murderer. I didn’t hurt no one. I hit a pole and hurt my car. That’s it,” Catone said after crashing his 2010 Nissan Altima at the corner of Arthur Kill Road and West Service Road, according to court papers.
