When a police officer is arrested for DWI, another police officer is enforcing the law and doing the job properly
CHARLOTTE, NC (01/10/2016) – A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was arrested Saturday and charged with driving while impaired.
Police say Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Shaheen Fadel was off-duty and driving his personal vehicle when he was arrested.
Fadel was hired by CMPD in February 2015 and was assigned to the Metro Division.
“Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are expected to conduct themselves to the highest professional standards and will be held accountable when they fail to do so,” Chief Kerr Putney said. “At no time will this department tolerate behavior that violates the law or our community’s trust.”
Fadel has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome a criminal and internal investigation.
