Mecklenburg prosecutors may have to dismiss more than 100 traffic cases, some drunken-driving charges, after a police officer was convicted of criminal contempt.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Barry Grimes was found guilty Monday of criminal contempt of court for testifying untruthfully during a DWI pretrial hearing in April.
District Judge Sean Smith sentenced Grimes to 30 days in jail and fined him $500. …MORE
