Around 2 a.m., Sgt. Stacey Thompson attempted to stop the driver of a 1986 Ford traveling west on South Church St. Police said Thompson suspected the driver was driving while impaired.
Sgt. Thompson turned on her siren and lights and the suspect’s car increased speed, turning north onto Tarleton Ave. The driver lost control and crashed into a yard near Sunset Dr.
Police located the suspect, Rasheek Demetrice Coles, 25, of Ellis Jeffries Rd., Burlington, and charged him with DWI and several other charges. MORE
