KERSHAW COUNTY, SC (12/03/2014) – The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged 43-year-old William James English with his fifth DUI offense, driving under suspension, providing false information to police, open container violation, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to stop for a blue light.
Authorities say they saw English driving a dark-colored Ford Expedition on U.S. Highway 1 during early morning hours on Sunday. After seeing English cross the center line of the road, the deputy tried to stop the vehicle.
English, however, fled from the officer and drove through several neighborhoods while trying to escape. Going no more than 55 miles per hour during the pursuit, English struck several mailboxes and drove through yards of several residences before losing control of the vehicle and crashing into an embankment.
English would be detained and treated on the scene for minor injuries from the accident. ….MORE
