A 43-year-old man who is due in court later this month on DWI charges from last summer has been charged with the same offense in connection with a fatal head-on collision Tuesday in Catawba County, authorities say. The N.C. Highway Patrol says Brian Hieb, of Sherrills Ford, was charged with DWI after his truck slammed into a car carrying a 50-year-old woman and her 26-year-old son.
