A Wadesboro Police officer is at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte after a crash pursuing an alleged drunk driver. Officer Ron Brown stopped the suspect, Darrell Adam Manis, 37, of Charlotte, at the Valley Motel on U.S. 74 at approximately 2:40 a.m. Sunday, according to a statement from Wadesboro Police Chief Janie Schutz. After Brown exited his patrol car and spoke to Manis, Manis drove off, headed west.  MORE
