BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio — A suspected drunken-driver who will likely face charges stemming from a May crash that killed a 14-year-old girl has a history of being drunk behind the wheel, 10TV’s Andy Hirsch reported on Thursday.
The driver, who is not being identified because he does not currently face charges, had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit when the crash occurred on May 15, investigators said.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Gregg Horn was driving along U.S. Route 33 in Logan County when his Mazda sedan was struck from behind by a minivan. The impact sent the car crashing into a bridge abutment.
“I can’t tell you how fast he was going, but I was doing 70 (mph), and he hit us like I’ve never been hit,” Gregg Horn said.
Horn’s 14-year-old daughter, Paige, died in the wreck. ….MORE
