CANTON — If he was the judge, Kyle D. Byelene said, he’d probably put himself in jail for driving drunk and seriously hurting two friends in a car crash.
The 18-year-old high school senior pleaded guilty Tuesday to two felony counts of aggravated vehicular assault, two felony counts of vehicular assault and misdemeanor operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination of them.
Stark County Common Pleas Judge Frank Forchione, who asked Byelene for his thoughts on punishment, sentenced Byelene to four years in prison, suspended his driver’s license for three years and fined him $500.
