CHILLICOTHE, Ohio -Annie Rooney was 36 years old when she was killed in a car crash last week in Ross County.

On the day of her wake, Rooney’s family is sending a clear message: she is not a statistic, but should be remembered for all she did during her short life.

The crash occurred on U.S. 50 just west of state Route 28 on July 4.

Rooney was an attorney in a family of physicians. Because of the danger inherent with biking on the roads, Rooney has recently switched to mountain bikes.

“She had just come back a year ago to give back to the community my parents loved so much,” said Rooney’s brother, Walt.

Then, Rooney’s mountain bikes were stolen in Columbus at the end of June.

She had borrowed a mountain bike from a friend and was driving home in a Lincoln Navigator, when she was hit head-on by 36-year-old Shira B. Seymour,  ….MORE
