Oregon: Nickolas Hoffman liked to puff weed and drive on his roof; now DUI in jail

Weed Whacky DUI for Nick HoffmanJanuary 31, 2015 – A man was arrested for DUII drugs after he rolled his vehicle at a busy intersection. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies believe the use of marijuana was a contributing factor to the crash.

On January 31, 2015, at 4:16 p.m., Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a crash on NW West Union Road west of NW Bethany Boulevard in the community of Bethany. Deputies found a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer upside down on NW West Union Road. Nickolas Hoffman, 19, of Bethany was identified as the driver and sole occupant of the Blazer.

Sheriff’s Deputies found Mr. Hoffman was driving northbound on NW Bethany Boulevard and accelerated at a very high speed as he was turning left onto NW West Union Road. Investigators determined Mr. Hoffman lost control of the Blazer, ran onto the shoulder then rolled over in the roadway. He received minor injuries and was treated by medical personnel on the scene.

It was determined that Mr. Hoffman was under the influence of marijuana and driving recklessly at the time of the crash. He was arrested and charged with DUII. He was lodged in the Washington County Jail held on $2,500 bail.
