Portland Police Arrest DUII Driver in Southwest Portland Work Zone –
(Oct. 24, 2012) According to Portland Police, on Tuesday October 16, 2012, at 11:32 a.m., a Portland Police Officer assigned to the Traffic Division stopped a driver on Highway 43 in Southwest Portland for driving 62 miles an hour in a 45 MPH zone. This area is also currently a road work zone.
The driver, 33-year-old Ashley Elizabeth Chambers, stopped at Southwest Riverside Drive and Riverdale Road. Upon contact with the driver, the officer noted signs of impairment and after further investigation arrested her for DUII and Reckless Driving.
Chambers Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was .36 at the time of her arrest.
The Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division’s slogan is, “Save a life, arrest an impaired driver,” and we’d like to remind drivers of the importance of slowing down in work zones and the dangers of drinking and driving.
Chambers was booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
