OREGON: State Police report Tylor John Stafford charged with DUI after crashing his truck while wrong-way on I-5; coward then fled on foot when fleetfooted flatfoot put the long arm of the law on his yellow hide

DUI truck driver Tyler Stafford was wrong way on an interstate crashed and fled on foot Nov. 22, 2020, says Oregon State Police

According to the Oregon State Police, on Sunday, November 22, 2020, at approximately 1:37 A.M., Oregon State Police Troopers received reports of a commercial motor vehicle driving northbound in the southbound lanes on Interstate 5 near milepost 163.

Tylor Stafford attempted to run on foot however he was captured by an officer from the Cottage Grove Police Department. 

An officer from the Cottage Grove Police Department located and attempted to stop the tractor-trailer.  The Oregon State Police report that the truck driver then drove onto the shoulder and continued northbound in an attempt to elude the officer.

Near milepost 173 the 2020 International, operated by Tylor Stafford, 53, of Shelbyville, Texas, crashed into a southbound 2019 Volvo operated by Daryl Rickman, 53, of Portland, Oregon. 

Stafford’s 2020 International then crashed into the concrete barrier and burst into flames. 

Stafford attempted to run on foot however he was captured by an officer from the Cottage Grove Police Department. 

Stafford was arrested for multiple charges including DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering. 

Stafford nor Rickman were injured. 

The northbound lanes were closed for approximately 30 minutes and the southbound lanes for approximately 3 hours. 

The Oregon State Police report that troopers were assisted by Cottage Grove Police Department, Lane County Sheriff’s Office, South Lane Fire and Rescue, and ODOT.  

Editor’s Note: The Oregon State Police provided the spelling of Stafford’s first name as “Tyler” while the Lane County Sheriff spelled it “Tylor” on booking records. Either way, he is an alleged dirtbag coward who could have killed many people.
