Surely there could be no more compelling argument against drinking and driving than the tragedy that has befallen the Risko family.

Kyle Risko, 28, of Stewartsville, N.J., stands charged with homicide by vehicle/DUI, involuntary manslaughter and false reports in connection with the 2011 death of his own brother, Billy, who was then 29 years old, in Stroudsburg. A street surveillance video actually captured the grisly accident on North Eighth Street, which happened after a night the men spent at downtown bars and a hotel.

Both men had been drinking; the victim’s blood alcohol content was .199 BAC, two and a half times the legal limit, and he had cocaine and marijuana in his system. The video shows Billy trying to hang onto the roof rack of the SUV Kyle was driving, apparently in a vain attempt to stop him from driving drunk.
