A driver was jailed after a fatal wreck in a West Ashley neighborhood early Sunday.

The wreck was in the Grand Oaks subdivision, which is off Bees Ferry Road in Charleston.

The driver, Steven A. Petit, 28, of Francis Younge Way Road in Hollywood, was charged with felony DUI and reckless homicide.

A passenger, Matthew Pieronek, 26, of Charleston, died in the wreck, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
