WALTERBORO — A Columbia couple died Sunday after authorities say their vehicle was struck by a drunken driver on Interstate 95. The wreck happened at 5:04 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 49, about four miles south of Walterboro, S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Paul Brouthers said. Elaine Lavoie, 70, and Philip Lavoie, 74, of Columbia both died in the crash, Colleton County Coroner Richard Harvey said. Troopers charged Christopher M. Bond denied for DUI killer
WALTERBORO, SC (WIS) – A man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a Midlands couple Sunday on Interstate 95 in Colleton County will remain behind bars.  A judge denied bond Monday evening for 34-year-old Christopher Gregg of Delaware. He is charged with two counts of felony DUI involving death.  According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Philip and Elaine Lavoie of Columbia were traveling north near Walterboro around 5:00pm Sunday when Gregg swerved into their and hit their SUV.
