SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol said it arrested a Westminster man who caused a five-car crash that killed two people in Seneca on Saturday night.

Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis said two people were killed in a five-car accident in Seneca on Saturday night.According to troopers, 52-year-old Drew Greene broadsided a car at the intersection of Wells Highway and Sheep Farm Road around 7:45 p.m., killing the driver and a passenger.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis identified the victims as Michele Silvers, 28, and her husband Joshua Silvers, 29, of Iva.
Troopers said Greene blew through the red light, smashing into the Silvers’ car before three more cars were involved in the wreck.
According to Addis, Michele Silvers was driving at the time of the crash. He said she was taken to Oconee Medical Center, where she died from neck trauma due to blunt force trauma. Addis said Joshua Silvers was thrown from the passenger seat. He died on the scene from head and neck trauma.
Addis said the other cars crashed after the initial impact, and troopers said five other people were also hurt in the wreck. According to Highway Patrol, one victim was airlifted to Greenville Memorial, and the rest were transported by ambulance to Oconee Medical Center.
One woman who witnessed the accident said she saw Greene’s truck speed past her on U.S. 123 as she was stopped at the red light.
