An SUV was speeding and swerving seconds before it crashed early Wednesday into a median on Interstate 26, witnesses told dispatchers, propelling a passenger onto the highway where another car struck him.
S.C. Highway Patrol troopers charged Evelyn Freeman, 20, of Amy Drive in Goose Creek, with felony driving under the influence after the 2 a.m. crash in the westbound lanes near the Ashley Phosphate Road exit.
Terrall Freeman, 28, of North Charleston, died at the scene, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin said. ….MORE
