WESSINGTON SPRINGS, SD – Wessington Springs Superintendent Lance Witte is in trouble with the law again.
Court documents obtained by KELOLAND News Tuesday show Witte was arrested for his fifth DUI near Alexandria Friday night. This is the second time in less than a year that Witte has been arrested for driving drunk. Last November Witte pleaded guilty to drunk driving in Huron and had his driver’s license taken away.
He was picked up just two weeks later for driving with a revoked license. Witte thought he had the necessary permits to drive, but ultimately ended up pleading guilty last Tuesday for driving without a license.
Now, we’re finding out just three days after that plea he was picked up again for driving drunk.
Witte has had problems with drinking and driving since May 1990 when he was convicted of his first DUI. His record now shows he’s been arrested a total of five times for the crime.  ….MORE
