California: Palm Desert Police track down DUI hit and run Mercedes and bust Todd Crowe

Responding officers located the suspect vehicle a few minutes later traveling east on Country Club Drive near El Dorado Drive and they detained the driver to conduct an investigation. The driver of the Mercedes, 48-year-old Todd Crowe of Palm Desert, was eventually arrested for driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor hit and run. Crowe was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio after being medically cleared at a local hospital. The driver of the black truck was uninjured in the collision.

A silver Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Harrison Street, in the southbound lanes. In order to avoid the Chrysler, three other vehicles collided with each other.

The driver of the Chrysler, Cosme Diaz, 51 of Coachella, stopped at the scene of the collision.

The occupant of the Land Rover was treated at a local hospital for moderate non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Mercedes, Kenneth Lewis Clark, age 54 of Palm Desert, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Adam Elders, on December 6, 2014 at about 4:07 a.m. officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to the 50600 block of Suncrest St. regarding a report of a vehicle colliding into a wall. The investigation revealed that Victor Rodriguez, age 19 of Coachella, was driving his Ford Mustang while under the influence of alcohol and collided with a wall inside the apartment complex. Rodriguez was not injured but was taken to a local hospital as a precaution prior to being booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio.

Diaz was driving recklessly in the parking lot, according to a witness, when he collided into a very large palm tree in front of JC Penney. Diaz did not sustain any injuries. Diaz was arrested and booked into the Riverside County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, and for possession of brass knuckles. The driver of the Lexus, Timothy Hogan, age 25 from Palm Desert, was found to be driving his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Timothy Hogan was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance and later booked into Riverside County Jail in the city of Indio for driving while intoxicated.
