The investigation determined the driver, Stacey Jo Dolan, 51 of Palm Desert, collided with another vehicle stopped at the red light. The collision caused both vehicles to block one lane of traffic on Gerald Ford Dr. Dolan was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

The driver of the Honda, Jose Contreras, age 26 from Palm Desert , was found to be driving his vehicle while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Jose Contreras was not injured as a result of the collision. Jose Contreras was later booked into Riverside County Jail in the city of Indio for driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.

A silver Chrysler 300 was traveling northbound on Harrison Street, in the southbound lanes. In order to avoid the Chrysler, three other vehicles collided with each other.

The driver of the Chrysler, Cosme Diaz, 51 of Coachella, stopped at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the Lexus, Susan Lynn May, age 65 of Indian Wells, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Esteban Trevino, 21 of Coachella. Trevino was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol/and or drugs and taken to a local area hospital as a precaution, prior to being booked into the county jail in Indio.
