Yates, as often happens with drunk or drug impaired drivers, was uninjured in the crash, which occurred almost three miles south of Terminal Avenue on I-664. Yates has been charged with refusing a DUI, DUI maiming and reckless driving.

On 10/4/15, Deputy Polliard stopped a tractor trailer for failure to maintain lane of travel in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway and I-95. Deputy Polliard arrested Samir Aliu, 44 of Spotsylvania DUID.

The passenger, Josh Payne, 22-years-old from Troy, VA, died at the scene. The rear passenger, a juvenile, was ejected from the vehicle and transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center in critical condition. No one in the Honda was wearing a seat belt.
