Tennessee: Cory Franklin Clewell charged with DUI and a real nasty attitude as he allegedly threatened cops

GALESBURG —A Knoxville man was arrested early Monday after threatening police officers and resisting arrest.
Cory Franklin Clewell, 21, was charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI, two counts of aggravated DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, two counts of driving while suspended, resisting a peace officer, threatening a public official, obstructing justice and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Just after 2 a.m. Monday, officers observed a vehicle swaying between the left and right sides of Lombard Street, hitting a yard sign as it turned onto Chamberlain Street. The car was pulled over on the corner of Chamberlain and Knox streets, according to the report.
When asked to provide his driver’s license and proof of insurance, the Clewell handed police his checkbook instead. Officers also noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and cans of beer under the driver’s seat, according to the report.
Clewell became angry and began arguing with officers, calling them names and refusing to cooperate, according to the report.
