AUSTIN — According to court documents, Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo made a traffic stop during SXSW. A man was caught driving under the influence with an infant in the backseat.
Michael Villarreal, 27, is charged with DWI with a child passenger, a state jail felony.
According to his arrest affidavit, Villarreal ran a red light at East Sixth Street and Congress. Acevedo pulled him over. He says Villareal’s eyes were droopy and he appeared tired. Acevedo says Villarreal admitted he’d been drinking.
