Belinda Hogan killed after car crashes into house; Miquel Ruiz charged with DUI manslaughter

08/30/2017  – According to Midland Police, a Granbury woman was declared deceased after a vehicle crashed into a home on LaSalle Circle late Wednesday evening.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the accident at approximately 10:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of LaSalle Circle. The investigation into the accident revealed that Midland resident Miguel Ruiz, 25, was traveling southbound on Mark Lane in a Ford Mustang and failed to maintain a single lane of travel. Ruiz left the roadway where he struck a tree, Granbury resident Belinda Hogan, 56, and a residence.

Hogan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ruiz was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter. The next of kin have been notified and the investigation into the accident continues.
