CANTON — A Van Zandt County commissioner was released from jail this morning after being arrested for driving while intoxicated in a county vehicle.
Van Zandt County Sheriff Pat Burnett confirmed Precinct 1 Commissioner Ricky LaPrade was arrested by Canton Police officers about 1:15 a.m. for driving while intoxicated, unlawful carrying of a weapon and resisting arrest.
