Texas: citizens of Lancaster call on mayor to resign after DWI charge; Mayor Marcus Knight asks for public to “respect his privacy”

Lancaster Mayor Marcus Knight was in Grapevine when an officer pulled him over last month.
Some people went to Monday night’s city council meeting to call for him to resign.
Knight, 38, is the city’s first black mayor. He was elected four years ago.
He was arrested on a DWI charge on November 15 in Grapevine at 1:20 a.m. on the 1500 block of North State Highway 26.
In a written statement to the Focus Daily News, Knight admitted he’d been pulled over by police after a “function.”
He also said, “I want to thank my family, friends and constituents for their support and understanding. I am requesting that people respect the privacy of me and my family during
this time.” ….MORE
