Texas: DWI driver who ran into firefighters vehicle was fresh out of prison

SANTA FE, Texas — An Alvin man who had just gotten out of prison two weeks ago is charged with intoxicated assault after hitting a car driven by a Santa Fe firefighter Sunday morning, police said.
The accident happened in the 2500 block of FM 646 at about 4 a.m., Sgt. Eric Bruss said.
Daniel Gonzales, 25, was charged with intoxication assault and was in the Galveston County Jail on $40,000 bond.
“When officers arrived, they discovered two vehicles with heavy damage and at least one that had rolled over as a result of the head-on collision,” Bruss said.  MORE
