During the 2012 Christmas holiday weekend, Harris County sheriff’s deputies rounded up 21 people on charges of drunken driving. Six had been charged twice before with DWI.

“These were probably not the only time these individuals drove while drunk,” Sheriff Adrian Garcia said in a statement. “These are just the only times they got caught.”

The sheriff’s office joined the Texas Department of Public Safety in a Christmas weekend crackdown on drunken drivers, targeting high-risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent.

Those charged with DWI for the third time were Arthur Cabral, 48; Deshawn Robert Diggs, 25; Rolando Salazar, 45; David Preston Saul, 59; Michael Aaron Wingard, 36; and Roberto Ventura, 29.
