Let’s set aside the toasts for one week, and focus on a group of people we’d like to skewer right now: drunk drivers.
We have written often in the past several years about the stupidity of driving drunk, the prevalence of it in Texas (we’re No. 1, unfortunately) and the steps we support (sobriety checkpoints, for one) to cut down on the number of cases of driving while intoxicated. State and national governments and organizations also have preached, time and time again, the need for people to display some personal responsibility when it comes to their drinking habits, especially when they have the keys.
