A Trinity County constable suffered minor injuries after a man allegedly dragged him with his pickup while trying to flee during a traffic stop Thursday night.

Michael Harris, 44, is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant, assault of a public servant and DWI third or more.

According to a press release, Constable Mark Cole and Deputy Mark Mann were patrolling FM 356 and located a suspect vehicle with a driver accused of trying to run over two pedestrians. The officers tried to stop Harris, but he fled to the One Stop parking lot in Trinity and pulled in, according to the press release.

Harris told the officers he would not get out and that the officers would have to shoot him, according to the report ….MORE
