Lufkin radio station owner Steven Yates was released from the Polk County Jail Monday morning after agreeing to give up his driver’s license until 2017.
Yates, 52, appeared before Polk County Judge Elizabeth Coker at 9 a.m. Monday to discuss a possible probation revocation that could have sent him to prison to serve the remainder of a 10-year sentence handed down in 2007 on a felony DWI conviction. In the hearing, however, Coker said Yates could avoid prison as long he agreed to give up his driver’s license and wear an alcohol monitoring device, according to Polk County District Attorney Lee Hon.  ….MORE
