Texas: Vivian Vance charged with DWI after killing pedestrian who was walking in roadway in the dark

Houston Police Report:

Vivian Vonell Vance DWI arrest pedestrian killed 120716

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 15000 Galveston Road about 4:10 a.m.  December 7, 2016.

The suspect, Vivian Vonell Vance (b/f, 48), is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #7.

The identity of the male victim, 22,  is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Houston Police Officer P. Pham reported:

Vance was driving a burgundy Nissan Quest southbound on Galveston Road when she struck the victim, who was walking in the roadway.  Vance stopped at a Shell Gas station a short distance away and remained at the scene.  The victim was then struck a second time by another vehicle that also remained at the scene.   HFD paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased.  Vance was determined to be impaired and was taken into custody.  The driver of the second vehicle was questioned and released.
