An Elmendorf resident who caused a fatal head-on collision on Loop 1604 two years ago by swerving into oncoming traffic while drunk was sentenced Monday to 15 years in prison.
Because Mario Montes’ pickup was determined to be a deadly weapon in the crash, he will have to serve at least half of the intoxication manslaughter sentence before he can be eligible for parole.
