Rocking with Rockinger on Booze Cruise
Trooper Luke Hall of the Vermont State Police reports that on October 17, 2015, at approximately 13:39 hours, Shaftsbury Troopers stopped a vehicle for multiple moving and vehicle equipment violations on VT Route 7, in the town of Mt. Tabor (VT). Troopers identified the operator as Paul D. Rockinger, age 25, of Shaftsbury (VT).
Further investigation led Troopers to suspect that Rockinger was operating under the influence of alcohol. After completion of the Standard Field Sobriety Tests, Rockinger was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Rockinger provided a roadside sample of breath which indicated that his BAC was .159 %.
Rockinger was then transported to the Shaftsbury Barracks for processing. Rockinger was later released with a citation ordering him to appear in the Rutland County Superior Court/ Criminal Division on November 9, 2015, at 08:30 hours to answer to the above charge.
Roseanna Newton charged with DUI
Vermont State Trooper B. Patnode reports that on 10/16/15 at approximately 17:36 hours, Vermont State
Police were dispatched to Mother Hubbard’s Convenience store on Bushey Rd for a
report of a female who was acting erratically and harassing customers as they
went in and out of the store. The complainants advised that the female had
driven there in a Jeep.
Upon arrival, the complainants advised that the female left. State
Police then left the scene looking for the vehicle and female as a registration
plate and description was provided. While State Police were driving down Bushey
rd., a vehicle matching that description was heading in the opposite direction
and was veering into the oncoming lane.
State Police stopped the vehicle and identified the female as Roseanna
Newton. While speaking with Roseanna, State Police detected an odor of
intoxicants. Roseanna refused all field sobriety exercises and was subsequently
taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and Disorderly Conduct.
Roseanna was taken to the St. Albans State Police Barracks for
fingerprints and photographs and was processed for DUI.
Roseanna was released with a citation to appear before the Franklin
County Superior Court, Criminal Division.
Boozing and texting!
VERMONT STATE TROOPERS Stephenson / Rider report that on October 17, 2015 at approximately 0117 hours, The Vermont State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash in front of 192 York Street in Poultney.
The Poultney Fire Department also responded. Investigation determined that Anne M. Short was operating a 2003 Buick SUV north on York Street. Short was texting on her cell phone while driving.
As Short approached the area of 192 York Street, her vehicle left the east side of the roadway and struck a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck which was parked in the driveway of 192 York Street.
Short was not injured in the crash.
Short displayed signs of alcohol impairment and was screened for DUI. Short provided a preliminary breath sample resulting in a 0.163 % BrAC.
Short was taken into custody and transported to the Fair Haven Police Department where she was processed for DUI. Short was issued a citation to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division to answer to the charges of Driving under the influence and Negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Fugitive ran from troopers on I-91
TROOPER Trenosky reports that on 10-17-15 at approximately 0039 am, the Vermont State
Police attempted to stop a vehicle on Interstate 91 in the Town of Brattleboro
for a motor vehicle infraction. The vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer continued
off exit 3 and failed to yield for emergency blue lights and sirens. The
Trailblazer continued on Route 9 into New Hampshire and subsequently on Gulf
Road in the Town of Chesterfield. Approximate speeds in NH ranged from 60-80
mph. The Trailblazer reentered into VT and continued south on Putney Road in
the Town of Brattleboro. Spike stripes were deployed and the vehicle’s speed in
VT was reduced to 20-40 mph. The Trailblazer came to a stop on Chickering
Drive in Brattleboro and the operator, Jason Larson was arrested. Larson had an
active warrant out of Bennington County for Attempting to Elude Police. Larson
was arrested for Attempting to Elude Police, Grossly Negligent Operation, and
DUI-refusal.
Michelle Jasinowski charged with DUI
ACCUSED: Michele Jasinowski
AGE: 54
CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Bowdoin, Maine
SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
Vermont State Police stopped Jasinowski on Interstate 91 southbound in Rockingham after another motorist called to report that her vehicle was being operated in an erratic manner.
Jasinowski was subsequently arrested for DUI. She was transported to the Springfield Police Department for booking and later released.
She is scheduled to be arraigned at Windham Superior Court/Criminal Division on November 3, 2015 at 8:00 a.m.
