VIRGINIA: Daniel Anderson Jr attempted to run over deputy when stopped and rammed a Sheriff patrol cruiser before being boxed in by three deputies and earning a third DUI and a free room in the slammer

DANGEROUS DAN THE DUI MAN
The York-Poquoson Virginia Sheriff’s Office reports that on January 7, 2025, at approximately 3:15 PM, a Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Wolf Trap Road. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of a residence on Wolf Trap, and the deputy began to interact with the driver. While the deputy was gathering information from the driver, the driver drove away rapidly, narrowly missing another deputy who was also on the scene.
These deputies, along with other deputies who were made aware of the situation, began to pursue the vehicle, as the driver appeared to be intoxicated and was driving in a manner that put the public at risk. During the course of the pursuit, the vehicle pulled into York Industrial Park, rammed a deputy’s vehicle, and once again attempted to elude sheriff’s office deputies.
The vehicle was eventually boxed in by multiple sheriff’s office deputies on George Washington Memorial Highway near the Wawa convenience store. The driver refused commands to exit the vehicle, and deputies broke the driver’s side window and removed the driver from the car. The driver of the vehicle, Daniel Anderson Jr, age 38, from Yorktown, Virginia, was arrested by Deputy B. Reeser, and charged with multiple crimes and traffic offenses. The charges include:
Driving Under the Influence -3rd Offense – Felony
Evade and Elude – Felony
Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (2) counts – Felony
Damage Property in Excess of 1,000 Dollars- Felony
Attempt to Cause Bodily Injury to Law Enforcement (3) counts – Felony
Multiple Traffic Violations
Daniel Anderson is currently incarcerated in the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
